On September 27, 2023, Dresden, a city known for its rich cultural and historical tradition, became a hub for entrepreneurs and HR experts. The Employer Offensive 2023 was not only an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and developments in recruiting, but also a chance to gain valuable insights from experts and discover practical solutions to the challenges of employee recruitment and retention. 🙌🏽
We were there as a partner with our team and would like to tell you about this exclusive and exciting event. 🤩
The employer offensive was organized by Sjors Matser and Felix Schulz, the founders and managing directors of Recrutis, and took place in the Löwensaal in Dresden, a very beautiful and exclusive location. With its services and software, Recrutis supports companies in their growth by recruiting suitable specialists despite the shortage of skilled workers. 🦁
The event was distinguished above all by its practice-oriented approach. The speakers, all specialists from the SME sector, contributed their first-hand experience and gave participants insights into proven strategies and solutions. They were not only present on stage, but also in 1:1 discussions in which they offered individual solutions to specific problems faced by the participants. This personalized approach ensured that each attendee was able to take away valuable information tailored to their business. 💪🏽
The event itself was deliberately kept on a small scale. This allowed for in-depth discussions and ensured that each speaker and expert had enough time to respond to questions and concerns from attendees. An exclusive trade fair, panel discussions and a networking evening rounded off the program and ensured a comprehensive experience for all participants. 🤝🏽
At the beginning, all participants received a schedule, relevant information and an exclusive workbook with information on the four speakers, event partners and companies in the trade fair area. 🔍
By the way, our Memberspot stand was again particularly praised by other exhibitors and visitors, which always makes us very happy, as our marketing team puts a lot of energy and love into planning our events, but why not see for yourself?
The employer campaign focused on four main topics: Employee Recruitment, Hiring Process, Onboarding and Retention. These topics were covered by four top speakers. 💎
Employee recruitment: Sjors from Recrutis covered the topic of employee recruitment himself as a speaker. Recrutis has developed automated recruiting software that generates and pre-qualifies suitable applicants. It enables companies to strengthen their employer brand, attract top applicants and fill vacancies quickly. Recrutis offers services such as employer branding, behavioral profile analysis and multiposting and acts as your personalized recruiting assistant with state-of-the-art methods and tools. ✍🏽
Sjors spoke about Recruiting 2023 and how to properly understand and use the applicant perspective. Nowadays, applicants mainly search for jobs on platforms such as Google, indeed.com and stepstone.de. It is recommended to use these platforms for greater visibility and to publish job ads on several sites simultaneously. As 95% of applicants use smartphones, targeted social media campaigns are effective, as the successful case study of nursing service Diacara shows. An applicant-centric approach that highlights benefits for candidates and offers salary transparency is crucial for successful recruitment. 📱
Recruitment process: Dr. Dominik Herzog from SYLVENSTEIN covered the recruitment process comprehensively in his presentation. SYLVENSTEIN Rechtsanwälte is a leading digital law firm specializing in advising medium-sized growth companies. With their "Digital Legal Department", they offer comprehensive legal support in all areas of business, from employment law to enforcement. ⚖️
They act pragmatically and professionally, whether out of court or in court proceedings. A special feature is their tailor-made subscription billing model, which ensures clear costs and fast interactions. Their clients come from various industries across Germany, including software, pharmaceuticals and media. They assist in areas such as customer contracts, public representation, employee matters and competition issues. 🤝🏽
In his presentation, Dominik gave deep insights into the recruitment process from a legal perspective. Every company, big or small, needs to be aware of which questions it is allowed to ask, which contractual clauses could be problematic and how to avoid discrimination. 👀
Onboarding: We at Memberspot are concerned with onboarding. Memberspot is a German software startup that specializes in enabling self-employed people and companies to quickly create their own learning platform. The aim is to make further training easier and more accessible. We place great emphasis on customer orientation and rely on word of mouth through satisfied customers. Memberspot enables companies to systematize and digitalize business processes. ⚙️
With video and text content, individual admin roles, employee surveys in the platform, easy creation of employee training, fast onboarding, a dedicated training app with white label branding, employee reporting and automatic certificates, Memberspot clearly stands out from other software solutions. The presentation by Fritz, one of our founders, was a real highlight. Fritz explained how important an employee's first few weeks are for their entire career in the company. 🤝🏽
Fritz presented case studies of companies that have successfully introduced digital onboarding platforms and showed how these platforms can contribute to employee retention and satisfaction. Team members, especially new hires, need clear guidance and resources to integrate efficiently into the company. He emphasized that many experienced employees often start "in the middle", which can overwhelm newcomers. Structured onboarding, supported by platforms such as Memberspot, can significantly shorten the induction period, reduce the error rate and strengthen employee loyalty. 🔝
Employee retention: Kolja Schneider from Kees Finanzberater GmbH explained how company health insurance and pension schemes can contribute to employee retention. He emphasized the importance of financial and insurance benefits as a means of motivating and retaining top talent. 🔗
The Kees financial advisor team has been advising on optimal financial and insurance protection for many years. With an innovative approach and a young drive, the team strives for excellence in the financial and insurance sector. Personal contact with the team offers the first step towards financial security. 🛟
The services include company health insurance, which offers additional benefits compared to statutory health insurance, company pension schemes, which offer benefits to both employees and employers, lump-sum provident funds, which combine employee welfare with entrepreneurial freedom, and company accident insurance, which offers financial support in the event of work-related accidents. ⚠️
The selected audience asked a few questions and were visibly enthusiastic about the content. 👏🏽
In his presentation, Fritz emphasized the importance of efficient onboarding for employee retention. He emphasized that experienced employees are often too anchored in detail and can overwhelm beginners. However, using the platform can pass on knowledge efficiently, as shown by the example of Sascha Schalk, who was able to shorten consultations by over 70% using Memberspot. ⏳
Statistics presented emphasized that poor onboarding can have serious consequences, such as over 70% of employees who are dissatisfied leaving the company in the first year. A survey of over 10,000 professionals also showed that most believe that 3 months is sufficient for optimal onboarding. In practice, however, most new recruits are not fully trained even after 3 months. 👎🏽
When explaining everyday processes, experienced employees often start in the middle because they take many things for granted.
The platform is always used when knowledge is passed on to customers or employees. 🧠
Fritz gave tips for optimal onboarding, from structuring the employee journey to using simple technology for training videos. ✨
Challenges of classic onboarding:
👉🏽 Often outdated and unmaintained employee handbooks
👉🏽 Employees often feel left alone
👉🏽 Ineffective knowledge transfer
👉🏽 Fluctuating quality of induction training
👉🏽 Many experienced colleagues take basic knowledge for granted, which can overwhelm career changers
Advantages of effective onboarding:
✅ Faster employee commitment
✅ Reduced error rate
✅ Stronger employee loyalty and culture
✅ More efficient communication
✅ Reduced stress
5 key elements for effective onboarding:
1. structuring the employee journey: From preboarding to first day on the job to training.
2. Utilize new employees as a resource: They can help improve onboarding by documenting their experiences and questions.
3. Easy start: continuous improvement with different types of learners in mind.
4. Technology is not a barrier: videos can easily be produced with a cell phone and an inexpensive microphone.
5. Immediate ROI: time savings and quick productivity through effective onboarding.
In summary, Fritz emphasizes the importance of a structured and digital onboarding process in order to effectively train new employees and promote the success of the company. Memberspot offers the right tools and solutions for this. 👍🏽
In addition to these specialist presentations, there were many other offers, including panel discussions, business portraits, a networking evening and even a competition for a personalized recruiting video. 🎲
Every detail of the event was carefully planned to ensure exclusivity and memorability. Elegant guests, a select dinner, inspiring speeches and cultural performances filled the evening program, which culminated in a relaxed after-work party. 👌🏽
In addition to the informative sessions, the employer campaign offered an exclusive evening event with star pianist Walentina Wachtel before the actual after-work party started. 🎹
After the official part of the event, the after-work party began and the atmosphere became more exuberant. The music became livelier and the guests had the opportunity to network and get to know each other better in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying delicious drinks. It was a perfect end to a great evening. 🌙
The Employer Offensive 2023 in Dresden may be over, but the insights and inspiration remain. For those who missed the event in Dresden, there is good news: The #AO24 stops will continue in other cities such as Hanover, Cologne, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Leipzig. 🙌🏽
The employer offensive has set a standard for future HR events. It not only offered insights into current trends and best practices, but also created a platform for exchange and collaboration. It is to be expected that many of the ideas and techniques presented there will be implemented in companies throughout Germany in the coming years. It remains to be seen how the HR sector will develop, but one thing is certain: the employer offensive has played a crucial role in steering it in the right direction. 🔝
We would like to thank Sjors and Felix from Recrutis once again for the great organization and implementation! We left them a Memberspot T-shirt on the spot. 🙏🏽
In summary, the Employer Campaign 2023 was not just an event, but a lasting experience that underlines the importance of modern recruiting strategies and effective onboarding. It showed that such investments are invaluable for companies in the long term. 💎
