All changes in brief:
We have updated our prices. As an existing customer, you can continue to use your current tariff for as long as you like or switch to a new one.
You can find our current rates on our Prices website and the Prices Enterprise website.
For a better overview, we have summarized some prices and listened to the wishes of many customers: to enable 2 member areas at a reasonable price. This is now possible at a rate of €1.20/month.
"20 courses? Many other platforms have that too - and some start at just €37 a month. Why is €127.20 cheap at Memberspot?"
Glad you asked! 😃
With Memberspot, you have unlimited secure video storage and bandwidth with every tariff.
We do not use third-party providers such as Wistia or Vimeo. Our alternative is internal video hosting and streaming with servers in Frankfurt.
These are the advantages:
These were very important points for many customers who switched to us.
Some have organized an online congress or hosted a lot of videos on Vimeo. Even with the Vimeo Premium plan, you can quickly slip into the "custom plan" category if you use too much bandwidth. With Memberspot you can still link Vimeo videos, but you don't need to.
Other platforms charge per uploaded video. However, you often don't know the total number of lessons you will create at the beginning. In addition, you should of course record as many courses/videos as possible for a better overview and didactics. With us, there is no constant fear that you will have to pay more if you upload more videos.
One of our customers creates courses in English about programming. She is very successful and became aware of us because we offer DRM copy protection. Before she became interested in Memberspot, she unfortunately had the bitter experience that her video courses were listed on an illegal file-sharing site and downloaded several thousand times.
Thanks to the DRM copy protection at Memberspot in combination with a function that prevents logins from being passed on, she was able to close these loopholes and secure her business.
Another advantage: You can post your videos directly in each video lesson or with the bulk uploader. This saves you a work step, because you don't have to upload the videos somewhere else and then embed them.
The Essential and Pro tariffs remain unchanged in price.
The Business tariff has changed. It has the same features as the Pro tariff. However, an additional member area has been added to clearly separate customer training from employee training. There is also the extended authorization concept.
With the introduction of the new prices, we have also added the SEPA direct debit payment method. You can now switch from credit card to SEPA direct debit yourself or start directly with direct debit. Beginners in particular who have not yet activated their credit card for online payments (3-D Secure) can get started straight away.
After filling in the data, the monthly or annual amount will be debited from your bank account.
Some customers have long wanted to be able to inform members about new content. Now it's possible. You will now find an e-mail icon in every lesson. Click on the e-mail icon to send an e-mail notification.
You can also inform your members about new chapters / modules (by chapter and module we mean the same thing). As shown in the following screenshot, go to the 3-dot menu in the course editor on the corresponding module. Here you will find the menu item "Notify members".
All members who have access to the chapter/lesson will receive an e-mail. You can customize the email templates. To do this, go to the Settings menu item in the side menu. Then select E-mail notifications.
The templates can be customized. You can use variables at this point as usual so that the name of the course/chapter or lesson is inserted instead of the placeholder.
In each course, members are shown how far they have progressed in the course. This progress results from the lessons that are counted as completed.
However, a progress bar is not required in some use cases for courses. In an employee training portal where a Memberspot course is used as a reference book, a progress bar is not needed as not all lessons are to be worked through. Customers who use courses for their regular live call recordings can also benefit from this function.
In the properties of a course, the progress for this course can now be deactivated, see screenshots below.
Lessons can be marked as completed or reset as an admin in the member administration. This function can be found in the member's progress record.
Go to Member and look at the progress of a member. Here you can click on the round arrow on the right. This will reset the lesson. This means that the video is no longer marked as completed for the member.
Have you updated a video and want it to be marked as unfinished for all members?
It is then a good idea to create a new lesson and deactivate the old lesson. As this is a new lesson, all members will see it as incomplete.
There is no longer a preview status. It is identical to the Draft status. The preview user, when using the Go to live version button, can now see chapters in draft status. This allows you to view your content while you are still working on it.
The maximum password length has been increased to 60 characters. For admin and member.
For our power users: Saving with the key combination CMD/CTRL + S is now also possible in the course and chapter.
The video progress is now recorded more often. This means that suddenly closing the tab is no longer a problem. Your members can simply continue watching the videos from the same place.
The company name can now optionally be displayed in the email. To do this, fill in the field under Settings → Basic settings. Meanwhile, you can insert the variable into the email template.
As always, we look forward to your feedback!
Team Memberspot wishes you continued success with Memberspot,
