We published a new version on Wednesday, 14.04.2021.
All changes in brief:
The new version includes a function that many people have been asking for. This function will restrict the sharing of accesses and prevent unpleasant conversations with members. During development, we listened to our customers' feedback and developed the function in a similar way to Sky Ticket. With this, users can use a certain number of devices at the same time and have a quota of how many devices they can delete from their list per month to make room for more devices.
Initially, we only wanted to draw the admin's attention to a disclosure and display it as soon as a particularly large number of people logged into an account at the same time. This could have potentially led to conflicts with customers. For this reason, we are focusing on prevention with the current implementation of the fingerprint function. Sharing login details is unavoidable, but simple sharing and unlimited use can be severely restricted.
You will now find the fingerprint function under Settings / General / Advanced. Once you have accepted the guidelines for using this function, you can get started straight away.
If this option is active, the following happens: Each time a member navigates to a course, they are logged out on the previous device. As soon as the member plays the content on the computer, they will be logged out on the smartphone and vice versa. See screenshot below.
You can use the "Maximum number of devices" setting to specify exactly this. As soon as a member has reached the maximum number of devices, they will end up in the device list and not in the course content. Now it may be that your member (customer) no longer uses a device and wants to delete it.
As an administrator, you can specify how often members can delete devices from the device list. The month period always refers to the calendar month.
Example:
Only one login at a time is not activated.
The maximum number of devices is set at 3.
The number of devices that can be deleted per month is set to 3.
The member logs in on their laptop and views the content of your courses. They also log in on their tablet and Android smartphone.
If it now tries to log in on an iPhone, for example, it will be forwarded to the device list. If it now deletes a device by clicking on the "x" in the table, it can now view the course content. This can only be done 3 times. After that, it cannot add any more devices, as it can only delete an existing device 3 times. If the calendar month changes, the member can remove a device again 3 times. As the "Only one login at a time" option is not activated, the content can be viewed on 3 devices at the same time.
Please note. Each browser counts as one device. If a member logs in on a Mac using the Safari browser and Google Chrome, this member has 2 devices in the device list.
If a member has reached their monthly quota for device removal, the administrator can delete the devices via the member administration.
The member can then add and use new devices again.
Sending e-mails is now much faster.
Before the change, the e-mail delivery rate was already high. It was 97.45%. This figure includes all customers and all emails. It also includes typing errors that did not result in delivery and emails sent to popular, but bitchy email providers.
With the new e-mail service, every e-mail is validated before it is entered in the member administration.
By excluding incorrect e-mail addresses, the e-mail reputation and thus the delivery rate will improve positively in the long term.
If a member's mailbox is 100% full, the email service may notify our email service that no more emails can be sent to this address. Your member should check this and make room again. After some time, the e-mail will be released again by the system.
We say goodbye to our old logo and hello to the new one.
You will soon find out exactly how the logo was created in a separate blog post.
A user error that unfortunately occurs frequently is that members do not read the welcome e-mail correctly and click on the register link again and again. Once the account has been registered, it cannot be registered again. The member should click on the login link.
We have revised the error message and now inform members that an account with this e-mail already exists.
There are some new features in the Affiliate Portal for our Memberspot partners. In particular, referral links now work. Just like coupon codes.
If your member uses your referral link, a cookie is set. Even if the interested party starts the free trial phase later, this will be tracked. Replace the front section of the link below with https://www.memberspot.de/mitgliederbereiche-fur-coaches and add your affiliate parameter.
Team Memberspot wishes you continued success with Memberspot,
